I recently did a photo shoot with Wendy. It was an inspirational time. When she looked at a shot she would say, ” I am so pretty”! I love that in someone. Wendy of course, can get away with it.
Wendy is one of the few I have worked with that can actually do her own makeup. I generally encourage people, especially women to hire a professional makeup artist. It not only pampers them, and makes them feel amazing, it really helps with the post production. Simply put it means less photoshop, and that means you look more natural. Excessively photoshopped images are never the best.
I have been working with Wendy for the past year. She has been playing “Mavis”, in Judith Klassen‘s film, “Love in the Sixth“. Wendy has been a major asset. Not only is she ‘pretty’, she has great energy on set. Wendy can do hair and makeup, she can act, style, sing, dance, direct, and well…pretty much anything that has been required on the crazy road to making this film.
When it was time to have Wendy down to the studio for acting/promotional photos, it was a snap! We collaborated very well. There was instant feedback on both our behalfs, as we decided what the “right” looks would be. With Wendy it was very clear what she wanted, and what she didn’t like. There is no wondering with her. She tells it like it is. When she loves it, she loves it, but when she doesn’t, you will know! As a result we had a successful shoot, and have had fantastic feedback as a result. Wendy has a unique ability of letting you know what to do, but giving you the creative licence to do it! Having two professionals allowing each other to use their individual experience and knowledge to the best led to an amazing time!
